KL Rahul leads India A to innings victory over England Lions in 2nd unofficial Test

first_imgOut-of-favour India batsman KL Rahul made the most of the opportunity that came his way to lead India A by helping the young side beat England Lions in the second of the two unofficial Tests at the Srikantadatta Narasimha Raja Wadiyar Ground in Mysore on Friday.KL Rahul led from the front with the bat scoring 81 runs in India A’s first innings. The right-handed batsman stitched a 178-run stand with fellow opener and centurion Abhimanyu Easwaran to box England Lions out of the contest in Mysore. Rahul has been in fine form as the Karnataka batsman had scored 89 runs in the first unofficial Test in Wayanad last week.India A clinched an innings-and-68-run win, posting 392 runs in the first innings after their top order shone with Easwaran getting 117, Rahul 81 and Priyank Panchal a half-century. In reply, England Lions were bowled out cheaply in both the innings.Markande shines with a five-wicket haulMumbai Indians’ mystery spinner Mayank Markande was the pick of the bowlers as he picked up a five-for in the second innings. He finished with figures of 5/31 as England Lions were skittled out for 180 in their second innings.Ben Duckett was the only England Lions batsman to reach the fifty-run mark in both innings combined.
